Joint unions to stage Hard Up Festival on 28th September 2014 when the Tory Party Conference comes to Birmingham.
GMB, along with Unite and Unison will be staging a protest outside the Tory Party Conference together with a March and Rally.
The Tory Party has cut Local Government Budgets knowing this has drastically damaged frontline services to vulnerable people. Job cuts in Local Government caused by the cuts have forced people into lower paid jobs or on zero hour’s contracts.
Union members have had to turn to food banks to avoid starvation while they administer draconian sanctions to benefits. The government only offered 1% to Local Government Workers which is effectively a 20% cut in real terms.
Joint union members will protest outside the Tory Conference at the ICC to make their voices heard with messages for David Cameron of “Pay a living Wage” “Abolish Bedroom Tax” “Outlaw Zero Hours contracts”.
