Today, Friday 8 May 2015 marks VE Day (Victory in Europe Day) 70 years since the end of the second world war in Europe.
Events are taking place today, and GMB officials will be joining the nation at 3pm to fall silent in remembrance of the enormous sacrifice made across Europe by those gave their lives to protect their nation in the Second World War.
