Darren James, Branch Secretary joined TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady and union members from sister Trade Unions in Westminster yesterday (17th July 2017) to deliver the TUC’s petition calling for the Public Sector pay cap to be lifted to the Treasury.
Speaking in London, Darren said “We welcome the TUC’s support for the campaign to end the pay cap. Our members have had thousands ‘pinched’ from them over 7 years of cuts all whilst keeping the country running. It’s time now to give us a decent wage’
“We were extremely disappointed by Philip Hammond’s comments over the weekend. Our Public Sector workers are not overpaid by any means, in fact when our nurses, firefighters, Teaching Assistants and many other professionals are having to rely on food banks to get by then there is something very wrong with the system”
